Gnome Necromancer Quest Walkthroughs for Levels 1-20


Level 1
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
Go to Tailor Tavin and get a Tattered Robe for free.

Level 2
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
Grear sends you to Spiritmaster Zake who binds you and sends you to Coachman Rizkar.

Level 3
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
Grear wants you to head out of town, kill ants, and return with two cracked ant pincers.

Level 4
Starting NPC: Bal Noonittle
Bal will make you a new staff if you bring him the following items:
Gear Wheel - Purchase from Merchant Samwe
Meat Chunk - Purchase from Merchant Folsop
Sliver of Snake Meat
Fractured Firefly Thorax

Level 5
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
Hosrottle send you to get a stunned mindwhipper. Head out the west gate, turn south. Run along the hill until you enter Klick'Anon(SW), you will see a beehive-like structure, surrounded by mindwhippers(CONs Red). May need to kill a few.

Level 7
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
Talk to Grear to get the quest. He tells you he needs to pay off some trolls for some work done. He sends you to the waysender to be sent to freeport. To find the waysender, go out the false wall and make a right past the lava pit. On the other side of the lava, there is a tunnel. Go down to find the waysender.

You are now going to Freeport. I suggest signing the coach while you are here. Then go back to the dock you showed up on and talk to the guy all the way at the end. He will send you to Hazinak. Once in Haz, go into the walled area and make a left, keep going left through two doors and you will see a coachman. I'd sign here too. Behind Coachman Drooga you will see a green tent. The troll you need is inside. Talk to him and he will give you something to give to Grear. Go back out to the dock and go back to freeport. Use the waysender on the same dock to go back to Klick and turn in your report.

Level 10
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
Speak to Grear, and he sends you to visit Dragoon X'Talin. To find X'Talin, go out the west gate. Follow the mtn range westerly to the river and swim down it. You will eventually come to a tower on your left. The Dragoon is in the top. Talk to him and he will ask you to kill tomb rats and bring back a sigil. To get to the tomb rats go back to the river and continue swimming down. You will find another tower on your right that is covered in tomb rats. Kill until you find a sigil. Bring this back to X'Talin.

He will then tell you it belongs to Arzen and could you be a good little gnome and kill him. To get to Arzen, go down the tower and head up the hill you see when you come out the door. (Its directly behind the tower.) At the top you will get a pop up asking to shout his name, do so. Arzen appears coming up the hill. Kill him and take the paper you find back to X'Talin. The Dragoon tells you what a good gnome you are and sends you back to Grear.

Grear wants you to go find Guryon and get the collar off his dog. So you now need to run your poor gnomey self back to the river. Swim like you've never swum before back down, past the dragoon and the tomb rats towers. a bit further down you will see a green tent on the right. Run around this area and you will get a pop up. If it says they aren't there, leave a little distance and keep comin back until they appear. Once they appear, dont worry about Guryon or the Delf chick in the tent. Be sneaky and kill the dog, Grim outside. If you're lucky, you will not aggro the humanoids. Take the collar back to Grear.

Level 13
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
Speak with Grear once again and he starts talkin about dark elves. Yes, you finally have to go to Neriak. To get to Neriak, go to the river and swim down it until you get to an area with a red tent on the right and fungus cockroaches on the left. Head east from here. Eventually you will see it in the distance. Outside Neriak you will see a small camp. This is where the coachman and Captain V'Ekelos are.

Sign the coach and go into the green tent at the end. V'Ekelos wants you to go inside Neriak and do an errand for a man in a bar. To find the bar, go into Neriak and when you get to the main hall (right after the bridge) make a right through the doorway. You will need to go into the next room and there will be a big yellowish tavern. Talk to the guy at the back and he will want you to kill tavern rats. (You will know you have the right building if you can con tavern rats from outside.) You need to kill the "tavern rat breeder" and bring its tail back to him. The place holder for this rat is just outside the last room on the bottom.

He then sends you back outside to the Captain. Next you get to go to Freeport. V'Ekelos wants you to buy him some nightshade from Merchant Gilgash. You can find Gilgash in the big building by the docks. He's in the bottom part. Take this back to the captain. Now he tells you some sob story and wants you to kill Helthea at Pilgrims Inn. And as if your poor gnome legs haven't run enough, you get to run again! Coach back to Freeport. Go out the North Gate and you will see a nice big road. Follow it north (of course). It winds through the desert a ways and then the area turns green. The path looks like its about to split, take the right hand path and you will come across an Inn. Walk up to the doorway and a pop up will appear. Then Helthea appears. Don't worry she won't aggro you til you hit her. Kill her and take the proof back to Captain V'Ekelos in Neriak.

Level 15
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
Grear is sending you to Captain V'Ekelos for another quest. V'Ekelos babbles something about some hatestone and wants you to go talk to the Ghostly Mage to find out where it is.
Lore on Ghostly Mage: Zelthil J'Narus utterly annihilated a mage called Surxal, and Surxal's spirits roams the duelers crest in Collonridge Cemetary. Known as the "Ghostly Mage" this spirit is bound to do the will of J'Narus.

To find this mage, go west from the tent with the captain, cross the river, go past the red tent with Jarek and keep an eye out for a big hill on the right. Go up this hill and you will see many many undead. You will have to look for a big white ghost. Talk to the Ghostly Mage (don't attack, he's Level 35) and he will tell you the hatestone is on Croc Island in Freeport.

Coach to Freeport. To get to Croc Island, follow the shore south until you get to the Whale Bones. Look west, that island is where you wanna be. I recommend invising. Gnomes make good croc snacks....Run around the southern side of the island. You should see a big conical rock. Around this you will get a message that a guy named Croc probably has the hatestone. Brainiac that you are you find out you need to go to Highpass to meet an old friend to coerce Croc out of his hidey hole.

There is no really easy fast way to get to Highpass the first time unless you know a high level wizard. So you have to run. If you go west from Freeport, you will eventually come across a large mtn in the Tomb of Kings area. Follow this north and go around it to the other side. Start heading back south. You will need to go southwest a little ways until you get to Bastable Village zone. Once there, head west. You should find a road that leads to Highpass. Now, you've made it to Highpass. You've signed the coach. See that building over there in the same room as the coachman? Foonklim is upstairs.

Talk to him. He will want 600 tunar to draw out Croc. Pay him and he will tell you to meet him at the Whale Bones in Freeport. Coach back to Freeport and meet him at the Whale Bones. He will SLOWLY swim out to the island and taunt Croc into coming out of his house. You will most likely need help to kill Croc. Once you have the hatestone, take it back to Captain V'Ekelos. He then sends you back to Grear.

Level 20
Starting NPC: Grear Hosrottle
1. The Dark Elves are asking for help again. Travel to Fort Seriak and speak with Denouncer S'Kor. He sends you to kill Ghoul Captain (CONs DB) on the island in the center of Lake Nerius. The Ghoul Captain walks a path between Castle and dock. Kill; loot the quest items, which is listed in your quest log. You may need to kill several times for the needed loot to drop. Return to Denouncer T'skor.

2. Talk to Elder Gregor at Collonridge Cemetery. He's located at the top of the first tower when you walk in the front door. Invis and wait for Gregor. There are three DB skeletons, and a whole bunch of different Elders. Just be patient and wait for Gregor.

3. Elder Gregor sends you to kill the Elder of Hodstock (CONs Yel), Hodstock is in western part of Hodstock & Tembly. Kill, loot record. Return to Elder Gregor.

4. Return to Castle Felstar and kill Captain Holberg (CONs DB). He is trigger spawn and shows up when you walk in the right spot.

5. Return to Denouncer T'Skor.
